Danish company Asetek said it has received an Indication of Interest (IOI) indicating interest from a third party in acquiring its liquid cooling technology business. The company also confirmed that “multiple parties” are interested in a potential partnership to leverage its “currently dormant data center liquid cooling technology portfolio.”

Asetek has not specified who has expressed interest in acquiring its liquid cooling business, or who has expressed interest in a possible partnership in the data center cooling segment. However, a potential sale of one of Asetek’s businesses could significantly change the PC liquid cooling market. Asetek’s equipment is used in many consumer liquid cooling systems, although the company’s presence in this market has declined in recent years.
«Asetek has received notice of interest in its liquid cooling business. Discussions are ongoing with multiple parties regarding potential partnerships to leverage the company’s currently dormant portfolio of liquid cooling assets for data centers. These discussions are ongoing. At this stage, the company has not entered into any agreements, accepted any terms, or made any commitments. It is also unknown whether any formal agreements will be reached at all,” Asetek said in its Q1 earnings report.
If this ultimately leads to the sale of the liquid cooling technology business, Asetek will completely change its focus, focusing solely on the SimSports brand of racing simulator equipment.
