Smart speakers SberBoom Home and Mini 2 with AI, updated design and rich sound go on sale

The SberDevices company announced the addition of two new models to the family of its smart speakers – SberBoom Home and SberBoom Mini of the second generation. The new products have an updated design and deeper and clearer sound, and the use of the GigaChat neural network model has made it possible to expand the range of creative tasks that can be solved with their help.

The user now only needs to say: “Salute, turn on GigaChat,” and you can create any requests. Using the built-in neural network, the virtual assistant will help you come up with a new recipe, create a training plan or birthday greetings, and also write a new fairy tale with your children, for which they themselves will suggest the development of the plot. It should be noted that the built-in neural network model of GigaChat has made the virtual assistant “Salut” more “human” and flexible in communication: it will always support the conversation, can answer in a whisper if necessary, and will help you come up with a congratulation or a script for celebrating a significant event.

The new products also received support for Magnetic Sound technology, providing deeper sound with rich bass and a number of improvements in functionality. In particular, SberBoom Home can be used as a separate hub for smart home devices and run local scenarios even without an Internet connection.

The new SberBoom Home smart speaker was designed specifically for home use. Thanks to its thoughtful design, the device will organically fit into the interior of a living room, nursery or kitchen. The speaker is offered in “warm” colors, including sea and foggy, which are great for neutral interiors (and as a cross-link with other Sber devices); pistachio and terracotta look good in the nursery and living room, and the sky color is perfect for white spaces.

SberBoom Home is equipped with an LED display with a monochrome LED matrix (5 × 17 LEDs) with automatic brightness adjustment thanks to the existing light sensor. The display can display the time, timer, weather forecast, traffic jams, an equalizer (can display the name of a song), as well as emotions (winking at pleasant words).

The speaker supports Magnetic Sound audio technology using adaptive sound processing algorithms and a neodymium magnet, which is stronger than the more common ferrite magnet, and provides richer and clearer sound. When listening to HiFi streaming “Sound”, smart algorithms will select music specifically for the preferences of a particular user from millions of available tracks. In addition, you can now even add tracks played on the radio to your Favorites.

SberBoom Home can be used to control devices in the Sber Smart Home system without using a separate hub. In addition to Sber’s own Zigbee devices, the speaker is compatible with more than 40 partner devices. There is also support for working with Zigbee devices without an Internet connection. In this case, you need to connect the device to the speaker.

The speaker body is made of highly wear-resistant plastic, which prevents scratches and various damages. Acoustic transparent fabric does not muffle or distort sound. In addition, it is treated with a special impregnation that protects against moisture.

In turn, the SberBoom Mini 2 smart speaker is made in a new translucent case, thanks to which its internal components and logo are visible. According to the developer, the column broadcasts a techno-story – it’s about curiosity (a translucent case showing the structure of the device).

SberBoom Mini 2 supports rich surround sound thanks to support for Magnetic Sound technology, which combines adaptive sound processing algorithms and a neodymium magnet.

SberBoom Mini 2 also differs from its predecessor in new color options. The palette is based on two types of techno colors: neutral (“Quantum Black”, “Neon Gray” and “Titanium Blue”) and accent colors – “Electric Yellow”, which appeals to children’s audiences.

New models of smart speakers support collaboration mode with TV, so you no longer need a remote control. To search for movies, change channels, control navigation and video player from any application, you can use voice commands through a Sber smart speaker connected in stereo pair mode to a set-top box or TV with Salyut TV. You can also output audio from your TV directly to your smart speakers. One speaker will enhance the sound, and two identical ones will provide stereo sound when watching video content.

When operating in stereo pair mode, each of the speakers acts as a right and left speaker, providing a stereo effect: a sound perspective appears, the music sounds three-dimensional and “flows” between the speakers.

From August 6, smart speakers SberBoom Home and SberBoom Mini 2 are available for purchase in the official SberDevices online store at recommended prices:

• 7990 rubles for SberBoom Home in “Pistachio” and “Sea” colors, with a smart temperature and humidity sensor as a gift;
• 4490 rubles for SberBoom Mini 2 in the colors “Neon grey”, “Quantum black”, “Electric yellow” and “Titanium blue”.

Starting August 7, new items will go on sale on popular marketplaces and electronics retail chains.
