SMART Modular introduced industrial SSDs of the T6EN series with a capacity of up to 15.36 TB

SMART Modular has announced the T6EN family of SSDs, designed for use in the aerospace, industrial and defense sectors. The series includes products in three versions – U.2, EDSFF E1.S and M.2 2280.

All drives are based on 3D TLC flash memory chips. The PCIe 4.0 x4 interface is enabled. The operating temperature range extends from -40 to +85 °C. The stated MTBF (mean time between failures) exceeds 2 million hours. It talks about support for TCG Opal 2.0 and AES-256 encryption.

T6EN U.2 devices are available in 960 GB, 1.92, 3.84, 7.68 and 15.36 TB capacities. Sequential read speed reaches 3500 MB/s, sequential write speed – 3000 MB/s. The value of IOPS (input/output operations per second) when working with 4 KB data blocks is up to 390 thousand for random reading and up to 55 thousand for random writing.

EDSFF E1.S solutions have similar performance indicators, but they have a maximum capacity of 7.68 TB. Finally, M.2 2280 SSDs provide sequential read and write speeds of up to 3200 MB/s. The IOPS value is up to 390 thousand for random reading and up to 50 thousand for random writing. The maximum capacity is 7.68 TB.

For all products, a special conformal coating is available as an option, designed to protect against the negative influence of environmental factors: elevated temperatures, moisture, pollution, chemicals and mechanical influences.
