Silicon Power has announced its first microSD Express memory card, the SET320. The new industrial grade product is available in versions up to 256 GB and can operate at temperatures from -25 °C to +70 °C. The SD Express interface allows it to achieve exceptional performance comparable to an SSD while maintaining a familiar form factor.

The Silicon Power SET320 memory card works with PCIe Gen 3.0 x1 and NVMe interfaces, supporting read speeds up to 820 MB/s – 1.4 times faster than SATA SSDs (up to 560 MB/s) and more than 8 times faster, than traditional microSD UHS-I (up to 100 MB/s). The write speed is up to 640 MB/s, which allows the card to handle calculations with large amounts of data. In terms of performance, SET320 is comparable to microSD, but retains a compact and versatile form factor.
The compact drive consumes only 1.5 mW, offering uninterrupted operation and high efficiency. It also provides backward compatibility with devices that accept regular microSDXC UHS-I cards. Manufacturer Silicon Power claims that SET320 is compatible with artificial intelligence applications that are actively developing and require fast and reliable drives.
