The new flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra has become thinner and lighter than its predecessor, it has a more powerful microprocessor and a new wide-angle camera. Despite many improvements, the developers decided to ship the device with a stylus that cannot be connected via Bluetooth. It does not support the Air action feature, which allows you to control your smartphone using stylus gestures, and cannot be used to remotely release the camera shutter. The manufacturer explained this decision by saying that the mentioned functions were not popular among owners of last year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Some fans of the Galaxy Ultra series weren’t happy with Samsung’s decision to ship the new flagship with an older version of the S Pen. Now it has become known that Samsung plans to release a Bluetooth stylus for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but it will be sold separately. Confirmation of this was found in the Samsung blog, which describes how a Bluetooth-enabled stylus can be used to interact with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It also mentions that the Bluetooth stylus can be used for some apps, such as the camera shutter.
The Bluetooth-enabled S Pen for the Galaxy S25 Ultra is currently not available for purchase on Samsung’s websites, while the standard stylus (model EJ-PS938) can be purchased for $49.99. For the same price, Samsung is selling a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Bluetooth-enabled stylus for the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to cost more, but more details are not yet available.
