Samsung continues to introduce artificial intelligence technologies not only into its smartphones and smart watches, but also into new models of home appliances. This time, the manufacturer presented a refrigerator, vacuum cleaner and washing machine of the Bespoke AI line, which received an improved Bixby assistant with AI.

The latest Samsung refrigerators feature a 9-inch display and are capable of interacting with other devices. However, you don’t have to use the device’s screen to interact with the built-in assistant. Just say, “Hey Bixby, find my phone,” and the assistant, which can recognize the voices of different family members, will make an outgoing call, thereby helping the person find their smartphone. The refrigerator, which is integrated into the smart home system, can also be used to control the air conditioner or automatic blinds. In the future, the capabilities of the built-in Bixby assistant will expand.
Another new product that Samsung showed off at a recent event in Seoul was the $1,099 Bespoke AI Jet Ultra cordless vacuum cleaner. The device features an LCD display that, in addition to standard features such as power level and battery life, can notify the user of incoming calls and messages on the smartphone. The vacuum cleaner comes with an automatic charging station, has a suction power of 400 W, and can operate without recharging for up to 100 minutes.
Samsung has also added touchscreens to its washers and dryers, including the new $3,099 Bespoke AI Laundry Vented Combo. This allows users to answer phone calls using the washer’s 7-inch LCD display. It can also automatically load detergent and open the lid of the laundry compartment when the cycle is finished.
Overall, Samsung has expanded the ability to answer calls with home appliances to its entire Bespoke AI lineup. At CES earlier this year, the company showed off the AI Home dashboard on several appliances, including Bespoke AI refrigerators and wall ovens. The features are supported on Android and iOS smartphones, and require a Samsung account and the SmartThings app.
Samsung typically refers to the 7- and 9-inch displays integrated into flagship smart devices like the Family Hub refrigerator as AI Home. However, the vendor also offers refrigerator models with 21.5-inch and even 32-inch displays, allowing users to run even more apps, including Samsung TV and TikTok. These displays act as controls for the device itself, and also integrate with other Samsung devices and services, in some cases using AI technology.
