Samsung spoke about the Infinity project to protect Galaxy devices from threats – it is built according to military standards

Having released the flagship Galaxy S24 line, Samsung has committed to providing them with seven years of support with security updates. This will be facilitated by the Project Infinity initiative, about which the Korean manufacturer has revealed some details.

Project Infinity will include four teams of cybersecurity experts: Red, Blue and Purple and Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI). These teams of specialists will be based in Vietnam, Poland, Brazil and work around the world without attracting attention to themselves. Each team has a specific role, from proactive threat detection to creating and deploying protective measures. For Samsung phone owners, the work of these units will result in security updates.

CTI’s mission is to identify potential cyber threats to ensure that hackers cannot exploit vulnerabilities in Galaxy devices. To do this, experts will comb the Deep Web and Dark Web segments of the Internet for signs of illegal activity, monitoring malware and stolen data. By analyzing anomalous data requests and suspicious traffic, they will identify and neutralize threats, collaborating with other departments of the initiative.

The Project Infinity program is built on a military model; The task of teams Red and Blue is to simulate attacks and protect against them, respectively. By throwing random data into software, Red team experts will be able to find hidden vulnerabilities; During this time, Blue specialists will continuously develop and implement security measures. The Purple group will work immediately after Red and Blue, but the object of research will be the Galaxy security infrastructure; specialists of this division will also attract third-party experts who will help in identifying weaknesses.
