The head of the semiconductor division, Jun Young-hyun, and the technical director, Song Jai-hyuk, have been nominated as candidates for joining the board of directors. In addition, Seoul National University professor Lee Hyuk-jae has also been nominated to join the board of directors of Samsung Electronics as an external director. Lee heads a research center at the said university that deals with developments in the field of semiconductor component manufacturing technologies.

These nominees have been called to Samsung’s board of directors to strengthen its focus on the semiconductor business at the top level of the company’s management. A shareholder meeting is scheduled for March 19, and new members may join the board based on the results of the vote.
