Samsung has released short-throw 4K projectors Premiere 7 and Premiere 9 starting at $2,999

At CES 2024, which took place earlier this year, Samsung announced several short throw projectors, including the Premiere 7 and Premiere 9, which are capable of producing 4K images. Now the manufacturer has announced the start of sales of these devices.

The Premiere 7 and Premiere 9 projectors are developments of the Premiere LSP7T and Premiere LSP9T, respectively. They deliver brighter, higher-quality images than previous generation models. Samsung said the main goal of these new products is to give consumers a “cinematic experience.”

Both new products support Smart TV through the Tizen software platform, which also provides access to Samsung TV Plus, Netflix, YouTube and other video services. Support for the Samsung Gaming Hub gaming service provides access to more than 3,000 games through cloud services. Both projectors feature AI upscaling to 4K and Vision Booster to automatically adjust color and contrast based on room lighting conditions.

The Premiere 7 is a quality mid-range short throw projector with 2,500 lumens of brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage. This ensures accurate color reproduction and enhanced dynamic range. Support for HDR10+ technology has been implemented. The audio system includes 2.2-channel speakers with a power of 30 W with support for Dolby Atmos technology.

The Premiere 9 is a step down from the Premier 8K projector, which was also unveiled at CES earlier this year. However, it is equipped with a three-color DLP laser source, resulting in a brightness of 3450 lumens. That’s still less than the Premier 8K’s 4,000 lumens, but still more than most short-throw 4K projectors. It also supports HDR10+ and covers the DCI-P3 color space by 154%. The design includes 40 W speakers.

Short throw projectors from Samsung are usually more expensive than their competitors, and the presented new products are no exception. Premiere 7 costs $2,999, while Premiere 9 costs $5,999.
