Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra turned out to be worse than its predecessor in strength tests

The popular JerryRigeeverything YouTube channel, known for its extreme tests for strength, tested the new flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. The host of the Channel Zak Nelson, bent, scratched and even set fire to a smartphone to evaluate its resistance to damage.

Despite the apparent meaninglessness of such tests, they allow you to obtain valuable data on the reliability of the device. As Nelson himself notes, such experiments help to understand how modern smartphones cope with real life situations, although it is obvious that most users will never intentionally subject their gadgets to such loads, the journalist from Hothardware notes.

Testing began with the dismantling of the S-Pen stylus, which was easily broken in half. This made it possible to look at his updated internal design. Next, the tester began to check the strength of the display using various tools for applying scratches. Unlike the previous Galaxy S24 ULTRA model, which reacted to damage only starting with a tool with a level 7 of the level on the MOOS scale (a ten -point scale of the relative hardness of the mineral surface), the new model showed noticeable traces already at the level 6. “I’m not sure what is happening with this glass at 6. Perhaps it was too fragile the last time, so the manufacturers adjusted the composition using Gorilla Armor 2,” Nelson suggested.

The smartphone received a titanium case, although the metal buttons remained unchanged. But the case itself and the buttons are perfectly scratched with a knife. The author of the video also drew attention to decorative rings around the rear cameras, calling them a “purely aesthetic solution”, and besides, they are not too reliable. The test of the smartphone’s screen was tested with varying success: it did not melt and the touch layer completely retained functionality, but the pixels at the heating point were damaged forever, acquiring green.

In conclusion, Nelson reminded users of the importance of protecting his device using a case and protective glass and warned that, despite the successful test results he had shown, the basic precautions remain the most effective way to extend the service life of any smartphone.
