Samsung boasts it leads the global gaming monitor market for the sixth year in a row

Samsung, citing data from research company IDC, reported that it retained its title as the world’s leading brand of gaming monitors. The South Korean vendor remains the leader in this segment for the sixth year in a row. In terms of total sales revenue last year, Samsung occupied 21% of the global gaming monitor market. In addition, the manufacturer retains its leadership in the OLED monitor segment for the second year in a row with a share of 36.6%.

«Samsung’s momentum in the gaming monitor market reflects our continued commitment to innovation and deep understanding of the needs of today’s gamers. From immersive 3D visuals to industry-leading OLED performance, we are shaping the future of gaming,” said Hoon Chung, Vice President of Samsung’s Visual Display Business.

The basis of the line of Samsung gaming monitors of the new generation is the proprietary Quantum Dot OLED technology, which provides a high level of color rendering, contrast and brightness at any viewing angle. The performance of the monitors is increased by support for Nvidia G-Sync Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technologies, which make the broadcast image smoother.

The current generation of Samsung Odyssey gaming monitors includes three models. The Odyssey 3D (model G90XF) features a 27-inch panel that delivers a 3D gaming experience without the need for special glasses. The monitor smoothly converts 2D images into 3D images using the Reality Hub app, and supports a 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time.

Another representative of the series is the Odyssey G8 (model G81SF), equipped with an OLED panel and available in 27-inch and 32-inch versions. The monitor supports 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 240 Hz, while QD-OLED technology ensures high color accuracy. The response time is only 0.03 ms. The third monitor in the series is the Odyssey OLED G6 (model G60SF), equipped with a 27-inch QD-OLED panel with support for QHD resolution, a refresh rate of 500 Hz, and a response time of 0.03 ms. This monitor will go on sale in the second half of 2025.
