Samsung’s market share in the global TV market in 2024 was 28.3% – the company retained the first place, which it took back in 2006. In the premium TV segment, that is, models priced from $2,500, the manufacturer got 49.6% of the market. Samsung’s share in the segment of TVs with a diagonal of 75 inches was 28.7%, and this is also first place in the world.

The global QLED TV market grew in 2024, exceeding 10% of total TV sales for the first time; Samsung sold 8.34 million units in this segment, or 46.8% of the market share. The company sold 1.44 million OLED TVs in 2024, accounting for 27.3% of the global market, representing a 42% increase in sales and a 4.6% increase in market share compared to the previous year.

LG became the world leader in the OLED segment at the end of 2024, and this is the 12th year in a row. In the fourth quarter alone, LG sold 1.1 million OLED TVs, and for the entire past year, the company shipped 3.18 million units, which corresponds to a market share of 52.4%. In the category of OLED models with screens over 75 inches, the company won 57.5% of the world market. It is noted that the share of OLED TVs in the price segment of over $1,500 last year was 45%, which is 8.5 percentage points more than a year earlier. In the OLED segment, the share of TVs with screens of 75 inches and more reached a record 16%. The total volume of LG TV shipments, including OLED and LCD, amounted to 22.6 million units or 16.1% of the world market. By 2025, LG intends to increase its share of OLED TV shipments to 53.8%.

In total, 208.83 million TV sets were shipped worldwide last year, or 3% more than the year before, meaning that the global TV market has returned to growth for the first time in three years. Global shipments of OLED TV sets from all manufacturers reached 6.07 million units, which corresponds to growth of more than 8%, meaning that the OLED segment is outpacing the overall market growth rate.
