Judging by the activity of laptop manufacturers on social networks, official sales of devices equipped with discrete mobile GeForce RTX 50-series video cards have started today.

As VideoCardz reports, the key issue at the moment is availability of new products. Most of the previously introduced models are out of stock, and some major retailers only have a few laptop options in stock.
There were concerns earlier that Nvidia could delay the release of devices by several weeks due to possible issues with defective GPUs that could be missing some raster processing units (ROPs), a problem that was observed in early batches of GeForce RTX 50-series desktop graphics cards.
Earlier this month, some laptop makers claimed that Nvidia required additional testing of all units before shipping them, which impacted delivery times and logistics. However, Nvidia then denied these claims, calling them rumors. However, the limited availability of GeForce RTX 50-series laptops at launch suggests potential supply issues.
Of the variants available today, the most affordable model with a GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card starts at $2,499. Models with RTX 5090 graphics start at $4,299.
