Redmi K80 presented – Xiaomi smartphone with the largest battery and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 starting at $346

Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi K80 smartphone. With a very competitive price, a very long battery life and a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the device should, according to the manufacturer, “deliver exceptional performance across the board.” It is important that the smartphone is protected from dust and water.

Redmi K80 is equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 3200 × 1440 pixels, a peak brightness of 3200 cd/m² and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid and Xiaomi Qingshan Eye Protection 2.0. The standard touch screen polling rate is 480 Hz, which can be increased to 2560 Hz in compatible games. An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is installed under the screen.

The device is built on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which combines an eight-core processor with a clock frequency of up to 3.3 GHz and an Adreno 750 graphics accelerator. A dual-circuit cooling system ensures effective heat dissipation. The chipset provides support for Qualcomm’s AI Engine. The maximum amount of RAM standard LPDDR5x is 16 GB, the maximum capacity of a UFS 4.0 drive is 1 TB.

Redmi K80 is equipped with a versatile triple rear camera. The main one is a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 800 camera with f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization. It is complemented by an 8-megapixel camera with a wide-angle lens with a viewing angle of 120° and a 2-megapixel camera for macro photography. Advanced photo features such as Super Night Mode, Dynamic Photos, and 8K video recording are supported. The selfie camera on the front has a resolution of 20 MP.

Redmi K80 received the largest battery in the history of Xiaomi smartphone with a capacity of 6550 mAh. The smartphone comes with 90W fast wired charging. The smartphone is protected from dust and water according to the IP68 standard.

The device has a built-in infrared remote control and supports NFC. Built-in stereo speakers provide loud and clear sound. The device runs HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, which provides improved performance, faster app launches and minimal latency.

Redmi K80 is available in four colors: Obsidian Black, Snow White, Mountain Green and Moonlight Blue. The smartphone is offered in five configurations at the following prices:

  • Redmi K80 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage: 2499 yuan ($346)
  • Redmi K80 16 GB RAM + 256 GB storage: 2699 yuan ($372)
  • Redmi K80 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage: 2899 yuan ($400)
  • Redmi K80 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage: 3199 yuan ($441)
  • Redmi K80 16GB RAM + 1TB storage: CNY 3,599 ($496)

The device is already on sale in China and is expected to appear on global markets soon, but possibly under a different name.
