Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses outsell first-generation model

Ray-Ban Meta✴ smart glasses are much more popular among customers than the first generation Ray-Ban Stories model. Within a few months, the new product outsold the previous model, which has been on the market for more than two years. This was stated by Francesco Milleri, CEO of EssilorLuxottica, which produces glasses under various brands, including Ray-Ban.

According to Milleri, the Ray-Ban Stories glasses, created as a result of EssilorLuxottica’s collaboration with Meta✴ Platforms, helped make the second-generation model more successful. Let us remind you that Ray-Ban Meta✴ smart glasses went on sale in October last year. The device is equipped with a camera, thanks to which the user can broadcast live to his followers on Facebook✴ or Instagram✴. The glasses also integrate the Meta✴ AI AI algorithm, which allows you to obtain information about the objects that the user is looking at.

«Today, people’s expectations have become clearer, hence the success of the second generation,” Milleri said in an interview with reporters. He also added that the company is awaiting a decision from the European Union authorities regarding the Artificial Intelligence Law. This is due to the fact that the Meta✴AI AI assistant is only available in the US, and in the European Union this feature is blocked due to the need to comply with local laws. Milleri also called Meta✴ a “key partner” and also noted the ability of his company’s products to become “a cultural intermediary that allows us to bring technology to people.”
