Raspberry Pi has announced price cuts on its Compute Module 4 (CM4), which is used in a wide range of applications, from medical equipment and industrial monitoring to retro gaming consoles and compact media servers.

In total, 16 CM4 variants have become cheaper. These are models with 4 and 8 GB of LPDDR4-3200 RAM with or without Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0 (BLE). The price of CM4 has been reduced with all variants of the built-in eMMC storage capacity — 8, 16 and 32 GB, as well as without an integrated flash chip (Lite modification).

The 4GB RAM versions have dropped in price by $5, with prices now ranging from $45 to $60 without Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and $50 to $65 with wireless support. The 8GB RAM versions have dropped in price by $10, with new prices ranging from $65 to $80 and $70 to $85, respectively.

It is emphasized that the price reduction affected only CM4 models with a standard operating temperature range of -20 to +85 °C. Extended Temperature options with an extended temperature range of -40 to +85 °C are offered at the same prices.

The computing modules are equipped with a 64-bit SoC Broadcom BCM2711 with four Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) cores operating at a frequency of up to 1.5 GHz. Support for H.265 (decoding materials in formats up to 4Kp60), H.264 (decoding 1080p60 and encoding 1080p30), OpenGL ES 3.1, Vulkan 1.0 is mentioned. The products are planned to be manufactured until at least January 2034.
