The cost of currently available laptops based on Qualcomm Snapdragon X Arm processors starts at $1000. Earlier, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon promised that Snapdragon-based laptop models starting at $700 would appear on the market next year. According to the VideoCardz portal, Qualcomm is preparing to release an eight-core Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 chip, which will play a key role in this.

According to the source, the eight-core Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 has a maximum frequency of 3.4 GHz (for a single core). With all cores running, the processor frequency is 3.2 GHz, which is 200 MHz lower than the maximum frequency in multi-threaded mode of the nearest 10-core Snapdragon X Plus X1P-64-100 model.
The Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 also includes 30 MB of cache memory, an AI engine (NPU) with a performance of 45 TOPS (trillion operations per second) and integrated Adreno graphics with a performance of 1.7 teraflops, which is half that of the 10-core Snapdragon X Plus X1P-64-100.
As reported by VideoCardz, the octa-core Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 has now been confirmed to be offered as a possible option on the Asus Vivobook S 15 laptop. According to WinFuture, this chip was also previously spotted in the specs of the Asus ProArt PZ13 laptop.
