Oppo Find X8 Ultra claims to be the thinnest camera phone. The thickness of the new product is only 8.78 mm, while the previous generation model had a thickness of 9.50 mm. Despite the decrease in thickness, the new smartphone has become more durable – protection from dust and moisture according to IP68/IP69 standards is declared (the case can withstand exposure to jets of water under pressure), as well as protection from falls according to the SGS standard.
The developers equipped Find X8 Ultra with a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display. The panel has a resolution of 3168 × 1440 pixels and a variable refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. Support for Ultra HDR images, as well as Dolby Vision and HDR10+ technologies, is implemented. Corning Gorilla Glass (version not specified) protects the screen from mechanical damage.
The main camera of the new flagship includes two periscope modules at once. The main one is the same 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor with 50 MP (ƒ/1.8) with support for optical image stabilization. According to the company, this is the largest sensor used in modern smartphones: it is approximately 63% larger than the main module in the iPhone 16 Pro Max, and 69% larger than the main 200-megapixel sensor in the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
In addition to it, there is a 50-megapixel wide-angle module (ƒ/2.0) with a 120° viewing angle, as well as a pair of periscope modules: 1/1.56-inch Sony LYT-700 with 50 MP (ƒ/2.1) with support for optical stabilization and three-fold optical zoom, as well as 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT-600 with 50 MP (ƒ/3.1) with support for optical stabilization and six-fold optical zoom.
There is also a separate True Chroma spectral camera for analyzing the color temperature of a scene, which, thanks to calibration from Hasselblad, provides accurate color rendition of human skin tones in any lighting. 10-bit video is supported, as well as shooting in 4K format at up to 120 fps or 1080p up to 240 fps. The selfie camera is based on a 1 / 2.74-inch wide-angle sensor with 32 MP (ƒ / 2.4), providing video shooting in 4K at up to 60 fps. To process the footage, AI-based technologies are used in combination with the ProXDR engine.
The Find X8 Ultra’s performance is provided by the eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The Adreno 830 accelerator is responsible for graphics. Users will be able to choose between versions with 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X-9600 RAM and a UFS 4.1 storage drive with a capacity of 256 or 512 GB, as well as 1 TB.
A significant upgrade is the introduction of a 6,100 mAh silicon-carbon battery — almost 20% larger than its predecessor. The battery supports SuperVOOC wired charging up to 100 W, AirVOOC wireless charging up to 50 W, and reverse wireless charging up to 10 W.
The Find X8 Ultra has two new controls: the Shortcut button at the top of the left side and the Quick button at the bottom of the right side. The former can be configured to launch apps or perform various actions, while the latter is primarily designed to control the device’s camera.
Find X8 Ultra has dimensions of 163.1 × 76.8 × 8.8 mm and weighs 226 g. Android 15 with the ColorOS 15 user interface is used as a software platform. Three color options of the case are available: black, white and pink.
As for the price, you can buy a camera phone with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of ROM for about $885, and a version with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of ROM for $1090. It is not yet known whether the smartphone will be sold outside of China.
