Oppo is increasingly anticipating the imminent debut of the Find N5 foldable smartphone, which should become the thinnest in the world. This time, the Chinese manufacturer published a photo in which it compared the thickness of the new product when unfolded with the thickness of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The photo also shows that the Find N5 will be slightly thicker than the USB Type-C interface it uses.

In recent days, Oppo has been stirring up interest in the Find N5 smartphone on its account on the Weibo social network. Find series product manager Zhou Yibao published several pictures confirming the dimensions of the future flagship. He also added that the obstacle to making the Find N5 even thinner is the limitations imposed by the dimensions of the USB Type-C interface.

Oppo said the Find N5 will be the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone. Now this title belongs to the Honor Magic V3, whose thickness when open is 4.35 mm. This means that the Find N5 will be around 4mm thick when opened. This also explains why the new Oppo smartphone looks about half as thin as the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which is 8.25mm thick. Let us remind you that the thickness of the USB Type-C port is 2.6 mm.

In another post, Ibao talked about protecting your smartphone from moisture. The Find N5 case is made in accordance with the IPX9 standard. This means that at the moment there is no official confirmation of the device’s protection against dust, but it has been tested to withstand high-temperature, pressurized water jets. The Find N5 also has a protection rating of IPX8 for immersion in water and IPX6 for lower temperature water jets.

Last year’s Oppo Find N3 was sold outside the Chinese market under the name OnePlus Open. If the manufacturer quickly brings the new product to the global market, then the smartphone can seriously compete with folding devices from Samsung and Google. More detailed information about the Find N5 will appear next month when the flagship is officially unveiled.
