The company Openai, according to the resource of Datacenter Dynamics, hired Kita Heyde, who previously held a leading position in Meta✴. In a new position, he will participate in a large-scale Stargate project for the development of AI infrastructure in the United States.
At Meta✴, Heide oversaw the supply chain of computing equipment and storage systems for AI systems. We are talking, in particular, about the first Meta✴ AI cluster, equipped with approximately 100 thousand accelerators. He also led three teams responsible for liaising with rack and server vendors.
Heide worked in Meta✴ for almost four years. Prior to that, he worked in the company of Wing – the Alphabet division, which specializes in the development of goods delivery using unmanned aerial vehicles. Heide moved to Openai back in November 2024, but it became known only now.

What exact functions Heide will perform as part of the Stargate initiative are not specified. Let us recall that in March last year it was reported that under the Stargate project, Microsoft Corporation and OpenAI intend to build a data center campus worth $100 billion to solve the most complex and resource-intensive problems in the field of AI. And a few days ago it became known that the name Stargate will be given to a new joint venture between OpenAI, Softbank and Oracle, which will develop “physical and virtual infrastructure to support the next generation of AI.”
The project will take part in Microsoft, ARM and NVIDIA, as well as the MGX Foundation from the Middle East. At the first stage, SoftBank Group and Openai intend to invest $ 19 billion in Stargate, and the company has been expected to reach $ 500 billion in the enterprise for four years. Apparently, Hede in a new position in OpenAi will be affected by equipment supplies. The deployment of large-scale AI infrastructure has already begun in Texas.
