It was previously reported that The Outer Worlds 2 will be a deeper RPG than The Outer Worlds. In the sequel, the developers are trying to avoid situations where the character is good at everything, and are pushing users to non-standard play styles.
Like the first part, The Outer Worlds 2 will allow you to kill all NPCs you come across, but in the sequel, the player’s bloodthirsty moods will be able to be reinforced by thematic perks like “Psychopath” and “Serial Killer” with bonuses for such a passage.
To reinforce the importance of player choice in determining the path for their character’s development, The Outer Worlds 2’s creators have abandoned the ability to redistribute skill points that was present in the first game.
There will be no skill groups in the game either — the developers decided that they should be pumped individually. This should open the way for more narrowly specialized characters. More than 90 different perks have been announced.
They promise wide opportunities for role-playing (from traditional to experimental), an in-depth system of positive and negative character traits, as well as a more intuitive interface.
The Outer Worlds 2 will be released in 2025 on PC (Steam, Battle.net, Microsoft Store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass. The big presentation of the game will take place on June 8 following the Xbox Games Showcase 2025.
