NZXT has announced the N9 X870E motherboard for Ryzen 9000, but it won’t be released soon

In addition to Asus, Gigabyte, ASRock, MSI and Biostar, NZXT also introduced a new motherboard designed for the new generation of Ryzen 9000 processors based on the Zen 5 architecture.

Unlike other manufacturers that produced boards based on the X670E chipset for Ryzen 7000 and Ryzen 8000G processors, NZXT did not release boards based on AMD’s flagship chipset for the Socket AM5 platform. Before this, its only board for the AM5 platform was the NZXT B650E model. Like the new N9 X870E, it supports not only Ryzen 9000 processors, but also chips from previous generations of Ryzen 7000 and Ryzen 8000G.

The new NZXT N9 X870E uses an eight-layer printed circuit board and a reinforced 23-phase VRM power subsystem with a 20+2+1 phase design (each phase is 110 A). The new product supports faster DDR5 memory (8000 MT/s) than its predecessor and is equipped with a larger number of M.2 PCIe 5.0 slots. The manufacturer has not yet announced the maximum supported amount of RAM for the new product.

The board also received support for Wi-Fi 7, which its predecessor did not have, and a 5-Gbit LAN interface. The NZXT B650E offered WiFi 6E and 2.5Gbps LAN support. The NZXT N9 X870E also has four M.2 slots: one with PCIe 5.0 support and three with PCIe 4.0 support. The previous model offered a similar configuration for the persistent memory subsystem, but the third M.2 PCIe 4.0 slot was limited to two PCIe lanes instead of four.

The Realtek ALC4082 codec is responsible for the sound in the new product. Like other solutions presented before this on the AMD X870E chipset, the NZXT N9 X870E board received two USB4 ports (Type-C 40 Gbps), as well as support for Bluetooth 5.4. In addition, it has non-fancy RGB lighting.

NZXT said it expects to release the N9 X870E in the first quarter of 2025. There is no information about the cost yet. The board will be available in white and black versions.
