Igor’s Lab reported that Nvidia “decided not to provide a press driver” for the GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card before its official launch. This prevents reviewers from conducting full tests of the card before the day of the start of sales. If the information is confirmed, then reviews of the new product will appear after the card goes on sale at retail.

As Overclock3D notes, Nvidia has chosen an extremely unfortunate time to release the RTX 5060. The card will go on sale on May 19, at a time when many tech media representatives will be at Computex 2025. In other words, reviewers simply won’t have time to conduct detailed tests of the RTX 5060 before the event ends.
«This short advance notice is addressed to all those who may have been eagerly awaiting a detailed article about the GeForce RTX 5060 8GB launch on May 19th and whom I may now have to disappoint. To avoid misunderstandings and unnecessary waiting: I will not (cannot) publish a review of the GeForce RTX 5060 on launch day. Not because I do not have a sample of the card – I do – but because Nvidia has decided not to provide any press drivers until after the launch of this card,” writes Igor’s Lab editor-in-chief Igor Walllossek.
Judging by the timing of the GeForce RTX 5060 launch, Nvidia doesn’t seem to be interested in a big publicity drive. Releasing the new product on the backdrop of Computex ensures that the audience’s attention will be focused on the show. Moreover, the lack of a press driver before the launch allows the company to avoid previews and in-depth analysis of the product.
If Nvidia’s goal is to sneak the RTX 5060 launch under the radar, it may well succeed. However, such a strategy could hurt the brand’s reputation. The company can’t avoid negative reviews by simply refusing to provide the necessary driver—reviews will still come. Some reviewers already have RTX 5060 cards in hand, and the only thing preventing reviews on launch day is Nvidia itself.
