Nvidia has done everything to ensure that the world does not see reviews of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 8 GB of memory for as long as possible

Nvidia is doing everything it can to prevent reviewers from getting their hands on the 8GB GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, reports YouTube channel Hardware Unboxed. Nvidia is trying to keep reviews of the new cards focused exclusively on the 16GB version. If the 8GB variants do appear in reviews, it won’t be on April 16, the day they go on sale.

Hardware Unboxed was unable to obtain a GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 8GB of memory for review. Although reviewers received permission from Nvidia to access the graphics card in this configuration, nothing came of it. According to some Nvidia partners, the cards in such modifications were simply not ready. Others explained the refusal by saying that Nvidia prohibited the use of these versions for reviews.

«While the launch is said to be the same day for both variants [of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti], Nvidia has only provided 16GB card samples for review, so we’re only expecting to see those cards on launch day. But that’s not all. We were told that AIB partners will not and cannot ship 8GB cards for review. “Even though Nvidia has given us permission to have 8GB models for day one review, board partners have told us that in some cases they couldn’t ship us a card because the cards weren’t ready, and in others because Nvidia explicitly wouldn’t let them,” Hardware Unboxed writes.

Hardware Unboxed also reported that, despite Nvidia’s claims, the RTX 5060 Ti cards with 8GB of memory may not actually go on sale on April 16, but will instead become available in a week or so. Why the company hasn’t pushed the launch back further remains a mystery.

«Nvidia told us that the 8GB cards would be available a little later, perhaps a week or so after the 16GB models launch. But despite that, both versions still have the same launch date. It’s hard to explain what’s going on here,” Hardware Unboxed continues.

Nvidia has also made some confusing statements regarding its RTX 5060 Ti launch plan. The company initially denied that the 16GB model was a priority, but then confirmed it in a Q&A with journalists. According to Hardware Unboxed, while the GeForce RTX 5060 (non-Ti) is scheduled to launch in May, Nvidia will lift the embargo on publishing reviews of that model tomorrow, April 16, at the same time as the RTX 5060 Ti. This means that the RTX 5060 will not have a separate review date, and anyone who can get their hands on the card before May and publish a review will not be breaking any of Nvidia’s restrictions.
