Nvidia has fixed a black screen issue that some GeForce RTX 50-series owners have been reporting in the weeks since the release of the GeForce Game Ready 572.16 WHQL driver. The company will be releasing new vBIOS versions this week, as well as a new driver version, which will contain the fix.

Previously, some owners of Nvidia video cards encountered the problem of a black screen. Users were unable to independently determine its exact cause. For some, the black screen appeared when using certain software, while others suggested that the problem could be related to an inappropriate version of the video cable used to connect the card to the monitor. In some cases, the cause of failures was the PCIe 5.0 mode activated for the video card on some motherboards.
Nvidia has not yet specified what exactly caused the problem. However, the company has already started releasing updates. One Reddit user reported that MSI has released an updated vBIOS for his RTX 5090 graphics card that fixes the crashes.

An Nvidia representative confirmed in the thread that a new vBIOS version will be released for some graphics cards that will fix the black screen issue. For models that have not received the vBIOS update, the issue will be resolved with a new graphics driver, expected to be released this week. The driver will include a similar fix.
