Nvidia acknowledged receiving a request from the US Department of Justice, but it was not legally binding

Yesterday’s decline in Nvidia’s stock price was caused by a number of factors, but the first place among them was taken by rumors that the US Department of Justice was preparing to launch a full-scale antitrust investigation into this company. Its representatives later confirmed the request from this department, but emphasized that it was not legally binding.

In other words, the information requested by the US authorities from Nvidia does not yet indicate the formation of an indictment in an antitrust case, if one arises. The company distributed comments on this situation to several media outlets, including CNBC. “We received a request from the US Department of Justice, but it was not a subpoena. At the same time, we are happy to answer all questions that regulators may have regarding our business,” Nvidia representatives noted.

According to the company itself, it receives its market advantages due to the quality of its products, which is confirmed by the results of independent tests, and customers can choose the solutions that are best for them. Previously, Nvidia representatives noted that the company’s competitiveness is determined by decades of investment and innovation, scrupulous adherence to all laws, openness towards customers and providing customers with freedom of choice. The company is ready to provide regulatory authorities with all necessary information.
