Today, along with the announcement of the CMF Phone 2 Pro smartphone, the launch of wireless headphones CMF by Nothing took place. Three models debuted – Buds 2, Buds 2a and Buds 2 Plus – significantly different in characteristics and price. All presented headphones are configured using the Nothing X app, which allows you to change the equalizer and loudness modes, switch noise cancellation levels, activate the low-latency mode and customize the controls.

The CMF Buds 2 feature 11mm drivers with Dirac Opteo tuning. They feature active noise cancellation (ANC), which reduces noise by 48 dB in the frequency range up to 5200 Hz. The earbuds can work for up to 13.5 hours with ANC off, and the total listening time with charging in the case is 55 hours.
The CMF Buds 2 Plus are only $10 more expensive, but they offer significant improvements over the base model. They have a more advanced active noise cancellation system — 50 dB in the frequency range up to 5400 Hz. The Buds 2 Plus also support Smart Adaptive Mode, which is not available in the “standard” Buds 2. The headphones provide improved sound quality due to the use of 12-mm drivers. The Buds 2 Plus support the LDAC codec and are Hi-Res Audio certified.
The Buds 2 Plus deliver the best battery life in the lineup — up to 14 hours with ANC turned off, and up to 61.5 hours with the case charging. The earbuds demonstrate minimal latency when turning on the corresponding mode — it is 105 ms when connected to a phone running Nothing OS.
CMF Buds 2 and Buds 2 Plus are IP55 dust and water resistant. Both models feature six microphones (three on each earbud) with Wind Noise Reduction 3.0 and Clear Voice Technology 3.0 to improve voice clarity.
The CMF Buds 2a are $10 cheaper than the base model, and the price reduction required a simplified design. The active noise cancellation system uses only four microphones (two per earbud) and reduces noise by 43 dB. In addition, the Buds 2a have worse battery life – they can work on a single charge for up to 8 hours with ANC turned off, and when using the case, the total battery life is only 35.5 hours. The water resistance level has been reduced to IP54.
All models of CMF headphones presented are already available for pre-order on the official Nothing website. Buds 2 cost $60, Buds 2 Plus – $70, Buds 2a – $50. All representatives of the new line will go on sale on May 6.
