Nothing has announced new Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro smartphones, the appearance of which has changed slightly compared to the previous generation models. Both new products retain the signature Glyph backlight, which is one of the most recognizable design details of Nothing smartphones, and they will soon go on sale.
The developers equipped the Phone (3a) Pro with a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2392 × 1080 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The panel has a peak brightness of 3000 cd/m² and PWM backlight brightness control with a frequency of 2160 Hz. The fingerprint scanner is integrated into the display area.
The screen is protected from mechanical damage by Panda Glass. The smartphone body protects internal components from dust and moisture according to IP64 standards. There is a hole at the top of the display, in which a 50-megapixel front camera (f/2.2) based on a 1/2.76-inch sensor is installed.
The main camera of the smartphone is located in a massive round module on the back of the case. The main one here is a 1/1.56-inch 50 MP image sensor with a lens with an aperture of f/1.88 and support for optical image stabilization. It is complemented by a 1/1.95-inch periscope sensor of 50 MP (f/2.55) with autofocus, 3x optical and 6x digital zoom. The third is an ultra-wide-angle module of 8 MP (f/2.2) with a viewing angle of 120º. 4K video shooting at up to 30 frames per second is supported.
The performance of the Phone (3a) Pro is provided by the eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 microprocessor, operating at a frequency of up to 2.5 GHz. The device will be available with 12 GB of RAM and a 256 GB drive. Autonomous operation is provided by a 5000 mAh battery with support for fast charging with a power of up to 50 W. According to the manufacturer, the smartphone can be charged from 0 to 50% in 19 minutes, and a full charge cycle takes 56 minutes.

The smartphone has dimensions of 163.52 × 77.50 × 8.39 mm and weighs 211 g. Android 15 with the proprietary NothingOS 3.1 interface is used as a software platform. The manufacturer promises to release software updates for the smartphone for three years, while the device will receive security packages for four years.

The more affordable Phone (3a) boasts the same 6-77-inch AMOLED display as the flagship model. The device’s body also offers IP64 dust and water resistance. It’s powered by the same Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor and 5,000 mAh battery.
One of the main differences is the design of the main camera unit. The Phone (3a) has a more conventional arrangement of the main camera modules. The device has a main 50-megapixel 1/1.57-inch sensor with f/1.88 aperture optics. It is accompanied by a 1/2.74-inch 50-megapixel telephoto module (f/2.0) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor (f/2.2) with a 120° viewing angle. In addition, the Phone (3a) uses a 32-megapixel front camera (f/2.2).

Both new Nothing smartphones support AI-powered features. To make it easier to interact with them, the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro now have an additional Essential Key button on the right side of the case. This button performs various actions. For example, pressing it will allow you to capture and send content from the devices’ screens to Essential Space, a new “AI-powered hub for your notes, ideas, and inspiration.”

A long press of the Essential Key activates the voice memo recording function, and a double press will allow you to proceed to interaction with all saved materials. In the future, the developers plan to add more AI functions to Essential Space, which will be somehow connected to the Essential Key button.

Both smartphones will be available in different color options. As for the retail price, the Phone (3a) Pro with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of ROM will cost €459. The Phone (3a) with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of ROM will cost €329, and the version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of ROM will cost €379.
