The potential appearance of gwent in The Witcher 4 was discussed by development director Sebastian Kalemba and executive producer Małgorzata Mitręga while visiting Easy Allies.

When asked if Kalemba and Mithrega could say anything about the prospect of adding gwent to The Witcher 4 (or at least hint at it), the pair did not say anything concrete, but left a number of unambiguous hints.

According to Mitrega, at CD Projekt Red, “everyone really loves” Gwent and “listens carefully to the community” of fans. The executive producer assures: “I think no one will leave disappointed.”

«Definitely, as you know, it’s part of the [game] experience. So we also love gwent and cannot imagine…” Kalemba did not finish his thought, because Mithrega interrupted him.

Let us remind you that the main character in The Witcher 4 will be Ciri (aka Child of the Elder Blood). Since meeting in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the heroine has passed the Trial of Herbs, which made her a mutant, and is preparing to become a witcher.

The Witcher 4 is being created on Unreal Engine 5 and has no release date, but recently entered the active production stage. CD Projekt Red also confirmed that Ciri will have a different voice actress in the new game.
