Sony has updated its Creators Cloud cloud platform, providing the ability to automatically transmit images from certain camera models directly to Google Drive or Adobe Lightroom. The innovation will allow photographers to greatly simplify the process of processing and storing media files and relieve the need to use additional “bridges”, such as computers or smartphones.
The new function is compatible with the latest Sony chambers, including FX3, FX30, A1, ZV-E10 II and A9 III, reports The Verge. These devices support the loading of images into a cloud via Wi-Fi or using the Creators App application, available for devices on Android, iOS and iPados. First, the photos are loaded into the Sony cloud storage, and then transmitted to Google Drive or Lightroom, providing an additional reserve copy and integration with already used cloud services.
All Creators Cloud users receive 5 GB of a free storage, and when used with the Sony camera – 25 GB. Premium tariffs per 100 GB for $ 5 per month or $ 60 per year, and 500 GB for $ 10 per month or $ 120 per year are also available.
It is noteworthy that Sony recently added a function to the Creators App app, which limits the transmission of images between the camera and the mobile device only with new or previously not transferred photos. In addition, expanded control parameters were added to the application, which allow you to configure some options for certain models of Sony cameras directly from a connected smartphone or tablet.
Providing more flexible and effective tools, this update is aimed at improving the work process and, in general, experts believe, will help increase the competitiveness of Sony in the market, where similar technologies are already actively introduced by other manufacturers.
