New DDR5 Memory Overclocking Record Set – Closer to 13,000 MHz

The Z890 Aorus Tachyon Ice motherboard from Gigabyte, which was presented a few days ago, has already managed to distinguish itself in two consecutive records of RAM overclocking. At the time of the announcement, it conquered the DDR5-12726 mark, and a little later the result was improved to DDR5-12752, and now this is a new absolute record of memory overclocking.

It is quite predictable that both experiments were organized with the participation of enthusiast Hicookie, who is a full-time specialist at Gigabyte Technology in extreme overclocking. It is curious that the only memory module that was overclocked to the specified mode and cooled with liquid nitrogen was released by a not very well-known company V-Color Technology and belongs to the Manta Xfinity RGB series. In the DDR5-12752 mode, the memory module retained latencies at the level of CL68-127-127-127-2 and was located next to the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K central processor, which was also cooled with liquid nitrogen, but was content with the activity of only two productive cores and a frequency of 420 MHz.

Traditionally, an engineering sample of the central processor was used, which was chosen among many others and also has a wider range of multiplier changes. The previous record in the field of DDR5 memory overclocking was set in early February by the American Splave using the ASRock Z890 Taichi OCF motherboard and the G.Skill Trident Z5 memory module. Memory manufacturers love this kind of advertising, but in this case, the main attention went to the motherboard manufacturer, whose interests the organizer of the experiment represented.
