Musk wanted to compete with Zoom and Microsoft Teams – social network X began testing video conferencing

Social network X (Twitter) plans to launch its own analogue of Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. X users will soon be able to conduct video conferences directly on the social network. Developers are already testing the new feature, TechCrunch reports.

The development of a new tool became known thanks to the publication of employee X, Chris Park, on a social network. Park said the company held its first internal conference using the new tool and noted that “initial feedback from the team has been positive.” He also mentioned plans to add features such as speaker pinning and improved notifications for participants joining and leaving.

In confirmation of the above, a user under the nickname P4mui discovered in the code of the social network application for iOS the ability to create conferences, both instant and scheduled, similar to other video communication services. Fellow code researcher Nima Owji noted that conference organizers will likely be able to set unique access codes for participants for security purposes.

As is the case with many other announcements of new features on platforms owned by Elon Musk, the exact launch date and rollout plan for the video conferencing tool are not yet known. But since Musk reacted to the publication of his employee with a fire emoji, this can be considered an indirect official confirmation that work on the new tool is in full swing.
