MSI is preparing the most sophisticated motherboard for Ryzen 9000 – MEG X870E GODLIKE

MSI has shown a diagram of the flagship motherboard MEG X870E GODLIKE, designed for the new Ryzen 9000 processors. The manufacturer is not yet ready to share images of the motherboard itself, but the diagram allows you to understand what features the board will offer and how it differs from the previous generation model on the X670E chipset .

MSI only offers two models of MEG series motherboards: GODLIKE and ACE. Both are very expensive products not intended for general consumers. These are solutions for enthusiasts with deep pockets who want only the best performance and maximum feature set.

Although AMD has already released the first models of Ryzen 9000 processors, the company’s partners are not yet ready to release new motherboards designed specifically for these chips on the 800 series chipsets. Fortunately, AMD 600 series board models (AMD decided to skip the 700 series of chipsets) are fully compatible with the new processors based on the Zen 5 architecture, so there were no problems using the new chips.

The MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE motherboard uses a very powerful 28-phase VRM power subsystem, each phase of which is designed for a current of 110 A, which ensures the board is compatible with all processors for the AM5 platform and has a significant margin of safety for overclocking. The board received two 8-pin EPS connectors for powering the processor to ensure maximum stability during additional overclocking, as well as one additional 8-pin PEG connector for powering the video card. According to rumors, it will be used by GeForce RTX 50 series video cards.

MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE will also offer the installation of up to four DDR5 memory modules with a total capacity of up to 256 GB (4×64) at a speed of 8000 MT/s and faster. The board supports AMD EXPO RAM overclocking profiles. For installing video cards, the new product has two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots. The board will also offer five M.2 slots for NVMe drives (four PCIe 5.0 and three PCIe 4.0) and four SATA III ports (6 Gb/s). In addition, the MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE is expected to offer a bundled expansion card for several more M.2 drives. The previous generation model has this.

According to the latest rumors, MSI will introduce new motherboards based on AMD 800 series logic in the middle of next month. The first reviews of boards based on the X870 and X870E chipsets are expected on September 30. It is very likely that the new boards will go on sale on the same day. Unfortunately, GODLIKE level boards are usually released after most new models are released. On the other hand, potential buyers will have more time to save up the necessary funds for it. MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE at the start of sales in 2022 was estimated at $1300. We’ll be surprised if the price of the new model is cheaper.
