MSI and Kingston boasted of updating the world record for overclocking RAM. Using the MSI MEG Z890 UNIFY-X motherboard, Taiwanese overclocker Kovan Yang overclocked the 24 GB Kingston Fury Renegade DDR5 CUDIMM memory module to 12,196 MT/s.
The enthusiast surpassed his previous record of overclocking the same memory module by 88 MT/s. Last time the RAM module was overclocked to 12,108 MT/s. According to confirmed data, the memory module worked at an effective frequency of 6097.6 MHz (12,196 MT/s), with timings CL48-120-120-127-2.
The experiment also used a Core Ultra 7 265KF processor from the new Arrow Lake-S series. The chip was slowed down to 400 MHz and almost all but two cores were disabled.
Liquid nitrogen was used to cool the memory during extreme overclocking.
