Motorola Unveils Powerful Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro Smartphones with Capacious Batteries and Pantone Displays

Motorola has unveiled the Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro, smartphones with curved 6.7-inch displays with up to 4,500 nits of brightness, powerful batteries with a capacity of up to 6,000 mAh, and advanced cameras based on the Sony LYT-700C sensor. The company said these are the most advanced displays in Motorola’s history.

The main feature of the new products, as GSMArena writes, is the presence of a triple camera based on a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700C sensor. The kit also includes a 50-megapixel wide-angle module, a telephoto lens with a 10-megapixel sensor and 50x zoom, and a 50-megapixel front camera. To improve the quality of photos, Motorola added Photo Enhancement Engine (PEE) algorithms that reduce noise and increase detail.

The flagship Edge 60 Pro runs on the Dimensity 8350 chipset (4 nm), with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Its 6000 mAh battery supports 90 W fast charging and 15 W wireless charging. The junior version is equipped with a Dimensity 7300 processor, a 5200 or 5500 mAh battery with support for 68 W wired charging and a microSD card slot.

The Edge 60 Series has new AI features, including Next Move, which analyzes the content on your screen and suggests actions, such as creating a playlist or reminders. The display and photos are also better-colored, thanks to Pantone Validated Color Rendering. In terms of audio, the devices feature Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers.

Ruggedness is another strength of the series. The Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro are IP68/IP69 rated for water and dust resistance, and MIL-STD-810H (military standard developed by the U.S. Department of Defense) certified for resistance to extreme temperatures, humidity, and drops from heights of up to 1.5 meters.

The smartphone design was developed in collaboration with the world-famous Pantone company, which specializes in color management and creates standards for accurate color rendering in various industries. Edge 60 Pro is available in three options: Pantone Shadow (leather coating), Pantone Dazzling Blue (nylon) and Pantone Sparkling Grape (sandy texture). The base model is offered in Pantone Gibraltar Sea, Pantone Shamrock and Pantone Plum Perfect colors – with different types of case finishes.

Sales will start in a number of countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America and Oceania, but the new products will not be available in the US. In some regions, the smartphones will be supplied with charging units (90 W for the Pro version and 68 W for the basic model).

The recommended price for the Motorola Edge 60 starts at £380 (around 36,000 rubles), and the Edge 60 Pro – from £600 (around 56,000 rubles). The exact release date will be announced later.
