More buttons, more options: Elgato releases Stream Deck Studio mixer for professional streamers and studios

Elgato has introduced the powerful Stream Deck Studio video control panel with 32 LCD keys, rotary controls and advanced connectivity options. The new product was created specifically for professional studios, popular streamers and small broadcast companies as an alternative to expensive equipment.

Stream Deck Studio, according to The Verge, was developed in conjunction with Bitfocus, known for its Companion software for managing Elgato devices. Professionals have already appreciated the benefits of the Stream Deck and Companion combination, finding use for them also outside of streaming and content creation. For example, Virgin Atlantic uses these devices to connect pilots with air traffic controllers, saving significant costs on expensive specialized equipment.

While the classic Stream Deck with 15 programmable LCD keys is designed as a desktop keyboard support, the Stream Deck Studio offers a professional version with 32 keys arranged in two rows with a pair of rotary controls. The console is 19 inches (48 cm) long and allows for versatile rack mounting with other broadcast equipment.

The Stream Deck Studio has one USB-C port on the front for connecting peripherals and two additional USB-C ports on the back. One of the rear ports is used to transfer data to a computer, and the second can be used to power the device as an alternative to a PoE connection (Power over Ethernet).

Stream Deck Studio runs on Bitfocus’ Companion software, but is also compatible with the new Buttons app, also from Bitfocus, which offers advanced features specifically designed for this controller, including instant visual feedback on the LCD keys and the ability to authorize users via built-in RFID /NFC reader with access rights differentiation.

To create larger control systems, it is possible to combine several Stream Deck Studio mixers into a single complex using the Buttons software, and if there is a lack of rack space, you can connect additional USB-powered Elgato devices, such as the Stream Deck XL, via the front USB port C. Buttons software costs range from $9 per month for an individual license to $99 per month for the Pro version. Enterprise license and perpetual purchase options are also available. The cost of the control panel is $900.
