Microsoft has announced that it will no longer support Paint 3D and plans to remove it from its app store in November. Despite the overall high rating from users, Microsoft has no plans to invest further in Paint 3D, XDA reports.

Paint 3D was introduced in 2017 with the Windows 10 Creators Update and featured a modern design and 3D art creation capabilities. However, the application did not gain widespread popularity among Windows users, which led to its exclusion from the standard installation of the operating system. It can currently only be downloaded from the Microsoft Store.
According to sources, a notification appeared in the application about the termination of updates and removal from the store. However, this message is not yet visible to most users. It will probably start appearing for everyone in the coming days. Paint 3D is expected to continue to work on computers that already have it installed, even after its expected November 4th removal date from the Microsoft Store. However, users are advised to save their projects and consider alternative 3D graphics software options.
This decision by Microsoft reflects the company’s changing priorities in the field of graphics applications. In particular, Microsoft has recently focused on developing the classic Paint program, adding new features to it, including support for layers.
