Microsoft has released an update for Windows 10 that fixes problems with printers, scanners and the Blue Screen of Death

Microsoft has released update KB5045594 for Windows 10, which resolves a number of issues related to USB devices and the Blue Screen of Death. This update is optional and requires manual installation.

Windows 10 users have previously complained of crashes when installing scanner drivers. In some cases, when using a USB connection, an unnecessary network command was displayed when printing, and printers also did not work properly, the source said. In addition to solving these problems, KB5045594 improves the stability of the system as a whole.

A new account manager will be added to the Start menu. Now it will be much easier to access its settings, and to change the user, you need to select the ellipses “…” next to the “Logout” command. It’s also worth taking into account that Microsoft has moved the account lock option to the power menu.

An important fix also addresses an issue that caused a blue screen of death with error code 0x3B to appear when trying to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. The update will help avoid failure when upgrading to a new operating system.

To begin installing KB5045594, users should go to the Update & Security section of Windows Settings and search for it manually. You can also update directly through the Microsoft Update Catalog. It is expected that automatic installation, which does not require manual intervention from users, will become available in November.
