Microsoft will add AI agents to Security Copilot to automate routine tasks and improve the efficiency of cybersecurity professionals. In total, there are six agents directly from Microsoft and five agents created by partners, The Verge reports.
The AI-powered Security Copilot was launched a year ago, but Microsoft is now scaling the service. New agents will be available in beta testing next month. They will be able to analyze phishing attacks, warn of potential data leaks, prioritize a series of critical incidents, and monitor vulnerabilities.
As Vasu Jakkal, corporate vice president of Microsoft Security, noted, AI agents will be integrated with Microsoft Security tools and will allow teams to autonomously handle a large volume of tasks. In addition, Microsoft will improve phishing protection in Microsoft Teams: next month, Defender for Office 365 will begin blocking malicious links and attachments in Teams messages, which will strengthen users’ protection from cyber threats.
The use of AI agents is becoming increasingly popular among large companies. In this regard, Microsoft has already relaunched its Copilot for business, offering a free chatbot and access to AI agents on a pay-as-you-go model.
It is worth noting that in addition to its own developments, Microsoft cooperates with a number of companies, including OneTrust, Aviatrix, BlueVoyant, Tanium and Fletch. Their solutions will allow, in particular, to analyze data leaks using OneTrust and identify the causes of failures in networks with Aviatrix.
Microsoft is also preparing new security announcements that will be presented at the Microsoft Secure event on April 9. More information can be found on the company’s official blog.
