MacBook Pro will get an OLED display and a thinner body in 2026

Apple is working on a redesign of the MacBook Pro laptop, which is expected to hit the market in 2026. This opinion is shared by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, who specializes in Apple devices.

Gurman’s message said that Apple initially planned to release an updated MacBook Pro in 2025, but for technical reasons the deadline had to be moved. The journalist writes that the new laptop will be equipped with an OLED display similar to that used in the iPad Pro tablets with the Apple M4 processor.

It is also noted that the updated MacBook Pro will be made in a thinner body than the current generation model. After switching to Apple Silicon’s own chips, the MacBook Pro laptop became a little thicker, but apparently the developers decided to change course, making the next generation model as thin as possible.

It is expected that the hardware basis of the updated MacBook Pro will be the Apple M6 chip, which will most likely be manufactured using a 2 nm process technology. An advanced processor combined with a redesigned design should bring a significant increase in device performance. As for the MacBook Pro (2025), this model will receive the flagship version of the Apple M5 chip, but apart from this change, you should not expect other significant innovations.
