Logitech introduced the G502 X Plus AL Edition aluminum mouse, but will not sell it

Logitech decided to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its G502 gaming mouse with a limited edition aluminum version. The exclusive G502 X Plus AL Edition features the same functionality as the original wireless G502 X, plus a laser-etched aluminum body that includes a serial number from 1 to 502.

Aluminum is designated “Al” rather than “AL” in the periodic table, but the Swiss manufacturer probably chose this spelling for the mouse model index so that it would not be confused with “AI,” which is the English abbreviation for “Artificial Intelligence.” intelligence”).

In the ten years since its release, the G502 has formed the basis of Logitech’s gaming line. The original version was a wired device, which can still be purchased today for about $50. In 2019, a wireless version of the G502 X was released with a Logitech Lightspeed adapter; and then it was complemented by the G502 X Plus with a 25 thousand dpi sensor, bright RGB lighting and wireless charging from the Logitech Powerplay mat.

The new Logitech G502 X Plus AL Edition will not go on sale. The manufacturer said the aluminum mouse can be “earned, rewarded, or given as a gift from Logitech G or our partners to community members around the world.” The company has already distributed 10 copies to Logitech G subscribers on the X social network.
