Lenovo introduced Legion Go S portable gaming consoles in Windows and SteamOS versions

Lenovo announced at CES 2025 the updated Legion Go S portable console, as well as its version Legion Go S – Powered by SteamOS. Both devices boast an 8-inch display, monolithic design with non-removable TrueStrike controllers with Hall effect triggers and joysticks. The console became the world’s first officially licensed portable device running SteamOS.

The Lenovo Legion Go S running Windows is a traditional device for gamers who want access to their favorite games wherever they go. The console is equipped with an 8-inch WUXGA PureSight display – this means that its resolution is 1920 × 1200 pixels, aspect ratio – 16:10; The screen refresh rate is 120 Hz. The console is equipped with an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor or an AMD Ryzen Z2 Go exclusive to this model; RAM capacity is up to 32 GB; The three-cell battery has a capacity of 55.5 Wh.

Legion Go S weighs 730 g. For communication with the outside world, a Wi-Fi 6E module and two USB4 ports are used – you can connect a display and any other peripheral devices. There is also an additional version of the Legion Go S console – Powered by SteamOS, which, as you might guess from the name, runs an operating system from Valve optimized for games. Cloud saving feature allows you to easily switch between portable devices and desktop PC; Remote Play function is supported for broadcasting games to the device from a PC; There is full access to the Steam store and library.

The older version of Legion Go S for Windows will go on sale in January 2025 at a price of $729.99; an inexpensive option will be available in March for $599.99. Legion Go S – Powered by SteamOS will have to wait until May 2025, and it will cost $499.99.
