Lava Mobiles introduced the Agni 3 smartphone with a 1.74-inch AMOLED touchscreen display on the rear panel

The Indian company Lava Mobiles presented the Agni 3 smartphone, which stands out with several interesting features. The main one is located at the back of the device. But we are not talking about cameras, but about the 1.74-inch AMOLED touch screen located next to them.

The rear display of the device performs several functions at once. It can display notifications, for example, about incoming calls. It can be used to control media playback and can also be used for some third-party apps such as weather, timer, and pedometer.

The rear display can also serve as a camera viewfinder for selfies. By the way, the main camera here is 50 megapixels, based on a Sony sensor with support for video recording in 4K at 30 frames per second and equipped with optical stabilization. It is assisted in its work by two 8-megapixel sensors – one with support for 3x telephoto zoom, the other for ultra-wide-angle photography.

The main display of the Lava Agni 3 is an edge-curved AMOLED with a diagonal of 6.78 inches, supporting a resolution of 2652 × 1200 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 1200 cd/m2. On the front side of the device there is also a 16-megapixel camera peephole.

The smartphone is equipped with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Another interesting feature of the device is the physical Action Key button, which performs different functions depending on a single, double or long press. For example, it can be used to release the camera shutter when taking photos or to switch between operating modes of the device. Users can also use the Action Key to quickly launch any application.

The Lava Agni 3 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor and comes with 8GB of RAM. The device will be offered with 128 or 256 GB of permanent memory. The new product runs on the Android 14 operating system. Lava promises three major OS updates and four years of security updates for the device.

The smartphone received a 5000 mAh battery with support for 66 W fast charging. Lava Agni 3 will be available in Pristine Glass and Heather Glass colours. The version of the device with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage is priced at about $250 in India. For a model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage they are asking $300. Open sales of the smartphone will begin on October 9.
