The March update for Windows 10 build KB5053606, which was supposed to improve the system’s security, caused a wave of discontent among users. Despite the fact that Windows 10 remains one of the most reliable versions of the OS, this update brought more problems than benefits.

The first difficulties began during the installation stage. Some users reported failures with the error code 0x80070020, while others encountered unusually long installations. Interestingly, the update is installed even on those devices where automatic updates are disabled. However, as PCWorld reports, this is due to the fact that KB5053606 is a critical security update that the system is forced to install.

Those who managed to upgrade encountered new, even bigger problems. The icons disappeared from the taskbar, the system became slower, and some users reported that their desktop settings were reset to factory defaults. But worse, there are delays when typing on the keyboard, which makes using the PC extremely annoying.

There have also been problems in the corporate sector for Windows 10. Users have reported problems with printing after installing the update on their PC. According to one company employee, the problems began immediately after rebooting the system. The print service is experiencing the following errors: slow loading, program crashes, and problems with the Citrix system integration.

Microsoft acknowledged issues with Citrix and USB printers on the update’s support page, but other issues such as icons disappearing and system slowdowns are not mentioned yet. There is currently no solution to these issues, and users are left waiting for fixes.
