The traditional-looking device supports a modern digital format. Kenko Tokina KR-019CR has a carrying handle and a 3-watt speaker with a 76-mm driver. You can listen to cassettes through it and through headphones – there is a 3.5-mm jack. There is a built-in microphone, through which you can record music and voice on cassettes.
Tape recordings can be converted to MP3 files and saved to flash memory: there is a slot for microSD cards with a capacity of 4 to 128 GB and a USB Type-A port for drives up to 128 GB – it is important that the digital drive is formatted in FAT32. The opposite is also true: MP3 files from flash memory can be played and recorded to cassettes.
To operate, the tape recorder requires an external power source, which is connected via USB Type-C. Instead, you can install four AA batteries – with regular alkaline cells, it can work up to 27 hours. The dimensions of the Kenko Tokina KR-019CR are 49 × 149 × 245 mm, weight – 685 g. The tape recorder will go on sale in Japan on April 18, the price of the device has not yet been announced.
