Speaking at the quarterly earnings call, Nvidia CEO and founder Jensen Huang acknowledged that some delays in bringing Blackwell accelerators to market did delay the company for a couple of months, but now all the problems are behind him. He also invited those interested in learning more about the new Blackwell Ultra and Rubin flagships to the GTC 2025 conference in March.

Formally, such a story about the upcoming innovations within the GTC 2025 was implied from the moment the company’s program was announced, but it was not mentioned explicitly. Now, the company’s founder has confirmed that in mid-March he will indeed talk about Nvidia’s further plans for the release of new-generation computing accelerators.
He made the main reference to these intentions on the quarterly earnings call, mentioning the success of the company and its partners in eliminating the problems with the launch of the Blackwell generation of accelerators. “As you know, the first Blackwells came out with a hitch, which cost us about a couple of months. We have, of course, fully recovered now,” Huang explained, adding that “many people helped us recover at the speed of light.” Now, according to the company’s leader, Blackwell production is in full swing.
«The “next train”, as Huang figuratively put it, will be the Blackwell Ultra accelerator family, which will update the network components and memory chips, as well as the processors themselves. Earlier it was reported that the Blackwell Ultra accelerators will initially be equipped with 12-layer memory of the HBM3E type, and will increase the memory capacity by 50% compared to the starting configuration of Blackwell. Nvidia’s partners are already involved in the process of preparing for the transition to Blackwell Ultra, as the head of Nvidia explained, and it will be much simpler compared to Hopper, since then almost the entire accompanying infrastructure was changed. In the case of Blackwell Ultra, the new accelerators can literally be installed in existing slots, as the CEO of Nvidia made clear.
After that, the company will focus on preparing for the release of Rubin accelerators and Vera processors, as well as their combination. Nvidia partners are already involved in the process of preparing for their announcement. “We will be able to take a big step forward,” the head of the company promised. He also added that at GTC 2025 in mid-March, he will talk not only about Blackwell Ultra and Vera Rubin, but also “show what will be next in line.” In general, Nvidia will talk about many other things at this conference, so many will be interested in getting acquainted with the content of the presentations, as Jensen Huang summarized.
