IPhone 16e is the best 6.1-inch iPhone in terms of battery life — it’s all about the Apple C1 modem

Apple has officially unveiled its most affordable iPhone of the current generation, which has become more expensive than its predecessor, but has received support for proprietary functions based on Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence. We are talking about the iPhone 16e, one of the important features of which is the C1 chip – the first cellular modem of Apple’s own design, which, according to the developers, will increase the battery life of the smartphone due to better energy efficiency.

According to Apple, the new iPhone 16e delivers up to 26 hours of video playback, the longest battery life of any 6.1-inch iPhone. It also delivers up to 21 hours of streaming video playback or up to 90 hours of audio playback. In comparison, the previous iPhone SE 3 could deliver up to 15 hours of video playback, and the similarly sized iPhone 16 could deliver up to 22 hours of video playback, which is 4 hours less than the new iPhone 16e.

The hardware basis of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16e is the proprietary Apple A18 microprocessor, but in the second case, the developers used a cut-down GPU with four cores. Both smartphones are equipped with the same displays, so the difference in autonomy is provided precisely by the energy-efficient C1 chip, while the iPhone 16 has a modem from Qualcomm.

The iPhone 16e is similar to the iPhone 16 in many ways, but this does not apply to support for MagSafe wireless charging. The new smartphone supports fast wired charging, but in the case of wireless charging, it is limited to support for the Qi standard and a power of 7.5 watts.
