IOS 18.2 will only learn to estimate iPhone charging time by December

The next iOS 18.2 update may introduce a long-awaited feature that will allow you to estimate the time it takes to fully charge your device. Hints of a new “BatteryIntelligence” option were discovered by 9to5Mac in the code of the second beta version of the iOS 18.2 operating system released to developers.

«BatteryIntelligence” will allow you to receive notifications with the estimated charging time of your iPhone. It is known that this feature is already available on some Android devices and is becoming increasingly relevant due to the variety of types of chargers, connecting cables and different charging protocols. However, as The Verge notes, the feature is still under development, and it may take some time for its official release.

It’s worth noting that newer iPhone models already have useful options for managing battery health. So, last year Apple added a new optimized charging setting for iPhone 15 and above, which allows you to charge the battery up to 80%, thereby extending its life. It is also possible to view the number of charging cycles of the device.

In addition, iOS 18.2 is planned to integrate with ChatGPT and add other interesting and exciting features based on artificial intelligence, making the upcoming release especially anticipated. The stable version of iOS 18.2 is rumored to be expected in December.
