IOS 18.2 will be released earlier – integration with ChatGPT and AI emoji generator Genmoji will appear on iPhone on December 2

Apple will release an update to the iOS 18.2 operating system with improved Apple Intelligence features on December 2, a week earlier than usual. The new release of the platform will receive the Genmoji AI emoji generator and integration with ChatGPT, which will significantly expand the capabilities of AI on the company’s mobile devices.

Apple usually releases x.2 updates in the second ten days of December: iOS 17.2 was released on December 11, and iOS 16.2 on December 13. It seems that the company, encouraged by the speed of users switching to iOS 18.1, is aiming to speed up the release of innovations so that iPhone owners can take advantage of the new features as early as possible.

According to Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman, the new iOS update will be one of Apple’s first attempts to offer users a more personalized device experience thanks to AI. The move is part of the company’s push to bring the second wave of Apple Intelligence to market faster. In particular, the Genmoji feature will allow users to create avatars that accurately reflect their appearance and style, while integration with ChatGPT will provide access to powerful AI tools that can help with everyday tasks.

The next major update, iOS 18.4, is scheduled for April next year, which is later than the traditional March release of version x.4. It is believed that Apple deliberately delayed the launch, likely to more thoroughly test and optimize new features. This update will include support for personalized context for Siri, allowing the assistant to take into account the user’s individual preferences and data.
