Intel: stabilizing update for Raptor Lake will not harm performance and will maintain overclocking capabilities

At a joint Intel x Asus press event, representatives of the chip manufacturer spoke about how the situation with the failing Raptor Lake family of chips is developing, as well as the prospects for the upcoming Arrow Lake processors and the new generation of Battlemage video cards. VideoCardz writes about this with reference to a Chinese tech blogger.

An Intel representative confirmed that boxed versions of 13th and 14th generation Core processors are now sold with an extended five-year warranty, and the warranty of already sold copies is extended by two years. Intel itself announced this the other day.

An Intel representative also made a very important statement: the microcode update that will correct the unstable operation of Raptor Lake chips, which will be released in the near future, will not affect the turbo frequencies and will retain the ability to manually overclock for K series models.

An Intel representative also said that the new generation Arrow Lake processors will retain high clock speeds, but their energy consumption will decrease by at least 100 W. The updated technological process will help avoid problems with high voltage – the chips will operate stably. The company has not yet disclosed the performance figures of the Arrow Lake processors, but they are expected to be impressive. Finally, Intel intends to release new Battlemage video cards by the end of this year, the performance of which will significantly increase compared to existing models.

The Raptor Lake firmware update will be released in mid-August, and the Arrow Lake series processors will likely be unveiled at the Intel Innovation event in September.
